ARC Prayer Meeting

There are several attributes in our church plant that we are seeking to implement. There are godly characteristics our congregation can be assured we are determined to live out by faith. Mercy, evangelistic, and prophetic ministries are certainly top Kingdom priorities.

Faith, fatherhood, family, and freedom are foundational to build ARC’s vision and mission. As a result, we want to be known as a loving, giving, going, and praying church. Always mindful that our Lord stated His House would be called a House of Prayer for all nations (Matthew 21:13).

Our Lord was quoting Isaiah 56:7, “Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

Notice one of the stated purposes was to bring joy to God’s people as they gathered in His House of prayer. How many do not participate in prayer and if we do participate, does joy fill our souls? The truth is the discipline of a steady prayer life for the believer should lead to the delight of his or her soul. It is healthy communion with God Almighty.

God’s Word informs us that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, left for us a few examples that we should endeavor to follow and obey. One such passage is 1 Peter 2:21, 22 which states, “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should walk in his steps: Who committed no sin, nor was guile found in His mouth.”

One of the most accurate, detailed prophecies in all of Scripture reveals that one of the sacred reasons Messiah came to earth was to bare the sins of many, and make intercession for the transgressors (Isaiah 53:12). Romans 8:34 assures us that Christ has indeed sat down at the right hand of power to make intercession for us. In fact, the Hebrew writer informs us that He ever lives to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25). What is the purpose of this living intercession? It is to save us to the uttermost. This is blessed assurance on steroids.

Since this is part of our Lord’s ministry and the example that He has set for us, let us diligently follow in His footsteps.
