American Reformation Church Prayer Journal 16
ARC Prayer Meeting
This past Sunday, the world celebrated the One who is the Resurrection and the Life. It was no different at American Reformation Church. Our church family made special efforts to proclaim “He is Risen!” “He is Risen Indeed!”
Jesus was delivered up for our offenses and He was raised for our justification (Romans 4:25). Who was guilty? We were. Who was delivered up? Christ our Lord. Who was raised? Christ! Who was justified? We were. God’s gavel of justice fell upon Christ as He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3:26). It is finished! The debt of sin was paid in full! We, who have repented by God’s grace and put our faith in Christ, have been set free from sin’s captivity. Hallelujah!
Because He lives, we shall live also (John 14:19). No power in heaven, on earth, or under the earth can stop Jesus from living. It is that true source of life that guarantees the gift of eternal life to all those who believe He has been raised from the dead and publicly confesses Jesus is Lord to the glory of the Father.
What’s next on the Kingdom agenda? Christ appeared to His disciples after He was raised from the dead and He called for a forty day conference to hammer home one Biblical topic, the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:3). How was the Kingdom going to spread? The Lord was going to send the Holy Spirit to empower His disciples, but first they had one obligation.
They needed to continue to gather together in one accord in prayer and supplication till they were endued with power from on high and then preach the Gospel of the Kingdom with mighty signs and wonders following (Acts 1:14; Mark 16:20).
As you can see, once again, prayer, intercession, and supplication was foundational to the purposes of God established in the heavens coming to the earth. There is no substitute today if we long to see the Gospel of the Kingdom advance in our day.
Brethren, may the Lord continue to encourage and inspire us to put our hand to the Kingdom plow with prayers in the air and boots on the ground to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom like those who have gone before us in Jesus’ name!
